Privacy Policy

Last updated April 7, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Walkthrough (“we”, “us”, or “Walkthrough”) collects, uses, and discloses information when you visit our website at https://walkthrough.cc, purchase Walkthrough, or use the Walkthrough desktop application. We built Walkthrough around a simple principle: your videos belong to you and should live on infrastructure you control. This policy explains how we try to honor that in practice.

1. Information we collect

Purchase information. When you buy Walkthrough, our payment processor collects the information required to complete the transaction — typically your name, email address, billing address, and payment details. We receive a record of the purchase (email, order ID, product, amount) but we do not receive or store your full payment card number.

Account information for the app. Walkthrough does not require you to create an account with us. To store your recordings, the app connects to your Google Drive using Google’s OAuth flow. The app receives a scoped access token that only permits reading and writing inside a folder Walkthrough creates in your Drive. We never see the contents of your recordings.

Website analytics. We use a small set of privacy-respecting analytics tools to understand how visitors find and use Walkthrough.com so we can improve it. These tools may set cookies or local-storage entries and collect information such as your IP address, device and browser type, referring page, pages visited, and interactions on the page. The providers we use are: Vercel Web Analytics (first-party, cookieless aggregate stats), Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity (heatmaps and session replay of your visit to this marketing site), and Mixpanel (product analytics with autocapture and session replay). Session replays are limited to this marketing website — they never capture activity inside the Walkthrough desktop application or your recordings. Basic server logs (IP address, user agent, request path, timestamp) are also retained for security and debugging purposes for up to 30 days.

You can opt out of these analytics by enabling your browser’s “Do Not Track” or “Global Privacy Control” signal, by using a tracker-blocking extension, or by emailing hello@walkthrough.cc and asking us to delete data associated with your visits.

Support correspondence. When you email hello@walkthrough.cc, we retain the message and our replies for as long as needed to handle the issue and for reasonable record-keeping thereafter.

2. How we use information

We use the limited information we receive to:

  • Process your purchase and deliver your license key.
  • Provide updates and security notices for the app.
  • Respond to support requests and refund requests.
  • Operate, secure, and improve the website and application.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

3. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers we need to run the business:

  • Payment processor (Paddle or Lemon Squeezy) to complete purchases, calculate tax, and handle refunds.
  • Email delivery provider to send purchase confirmations and license keys.
  • Hosting provider (Vercel) to serve this website.
  • Analytics providers (Vercel Web Analytics, Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, Mixpanel) to measure and improve this website. See section 1 for what they collect and how to opt out.

We may also disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Walkthrough, our users, or others.

4. Your recordings

Your recordings are stored in your own Google Drive. We do not host or retain copies on our servers. If you revoke Walkthrough’s access to your Google account, the app loses the ability to upload new files but your existing recordings remain where they are.

5. Data retention

Purchase records are retained for as long as required by tax and accounting law in the jurisdictions where we operate. Support emails are retained for up to three years. Server logs are retained for up to 30 days.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws like the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and the right to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@walkthrough.cc. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.

7. International transfers

Depending on where you are located, your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

8. Security

We use standard security practices to protect the information we handle, including HTTPS for all web traffic and access controls on our internal systems. No system is perfect, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

Walkthrough is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@walkthrough.cc and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the current version. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
